Here is some basic information, in alphabetical order, on some of the international, national and regional fireworks conventions. Some of the other smaller organizations also hold local events on occasion too. See the Symposiums Page for info on Fireworks Symposiums.

Desert Blast

As the name implies it is just that. This 10-year old event where almost anything goes is "by invitation only" and "you have to know right people to be invited". Held out in the middle of nowhere for the ultimate in pyro entertainment value.

Florida Pyrotechnic Arts Guild (FPAG) - Florida Fall Fireworks Festival (FFFF)

Annual 3-day convention held near Monticello, FL (about 30 minutes east of Tallahassee, FL) usually in October or November. The FPAG has many seminars and workshops plus demonstrations and a public display.

Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) - Annual Convention

The largest fireworks event in the world with over 2,000 in attendance, the PGI Convention is the granddaddy of them all. It is held in the USA, usually every second full week in August and most often in the Upper Midwest but also every 3-4 years in the West or Northeast. Daily seminars and workshops on display fireworks and how to make and use them, regulations and other issues. Also includes the PGI Display Operator Certification Program and a huge public display, including a Superstring of millions of firecrackers.

Western Pyrotechnics Association (WPA) - Western Winter Blast (WWB)

The WWB is held every President's Day weekend in February in Lake Havasu City, Arizona USA. Started in 1989, this large international pyrotechnics association holds their annual convention which includes seminars and presentations plus a fantastic public display.
