Charles P. Weeth is the principal of W&A. He has been involved in sales and marketing for over 30 years and has over 20 years of fireworks experience.

He is licensed in Hawaii and certified in Minnesota as a pyrotechnic operator for both fireworks displays and pyrotechnic special effects. He has a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Haz Mat endorsement.

Since 1988 he has been a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committees that develop the fire codes for fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects.

After the fireworks explosions in May of 2001 in Enschede, The Netherlands, killing 21 and destroying over 400 homes and businesses, he went to the scene to research one of the many papers he has presented for the International Symposium on Fireworks.

He assisted in the major update to the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) Display Fireworks Operator Certification Study Guide and is a certified instructor for the course.

In 2003 on behalf of the National Fireworks Association (NFA), he investigated the alleged fireworks explosions aboard the container ship M/V HANJIN PENNSYLVANIA that resulted in 2 fatalities and over $235 million in damage.

Mr. Weeth is a consultant who is often called in for his fireworks expertise in legal and regulatory matters. He travels extensively to see fireworks performances, tour manufacturing and distribution facilities, and survey consumer fireworks retail outlets.

He is also the Special Correspondent for American Fireworks News (AFN) and Fireworks Business, and the American Correspondent for Bennett’s Fireworks of the United Kingdom.
